Regional Quads. Who Is In?

Postby Bearhugger » Wed Sep 18, 2024 7:25 pm

With a few schools moving up to AAA and a few schools dropping down to AA, who is wrestling off in the regional quads.

1. Fairmont Senior was the AA/A Region 1 champion. They have a tough bunch coming back. They have now moved up to AAA Region 1. Does FSHS get to participate in the AAA Region 1 quad? Which team dropped out?

2. Ripley dropped from AAA to AA. It is convenient that they placed fifth in AAA Region 4 last season. However, they return many state tournament qualifiers and without a doubt, will be a top four team in AA/A region 4. Does Ripley take Winfield's spot or does Calhoun move up?

3. Winfield placed fourth in AA/A Region 4. However, they have moved up to AAA region 4. They swapped out with Ripley. Winfield will be a developing team. Do they sit out the regional quad?

4. Wheeling Central placed fifth in AA/A Region 1. Do they move up whereas Fairmont Senior moved out?
The state tournament qualification process needs to be improved first and foremost.

The word on the street is Ripley will be doing battle in the AA/A Region 4 quad. This information came to me from my very reliable friend TruesouthfaninJacksonCounty.

I hope to talk with another good friend TruesouthfaninLewisburg to get the 411 on all of these super quads.
