I used the word "prediction" because you are saying the rankings, based on prior results, are predictive of what would likely happen in the future in head to head meetings and thus you are assigning the moniker of "deserving" based on what the rankings "predict" would h...

Brock is doing what he's doing as a Heavyweight. He has only been at 285 the past 2 years, so that shouldn't be an issue. It would be nice for all those wrestlers involved in the discussion to have the information on the wrestlers they have beaten listed with the date of the match, to put it into s...

Re: Cardinal Conference Trivia
Last weekend we had the Cardinal Conference Tournament. It was Ripley's first year being a member, and they came in second place to Hoover. 1. The tournament placed the top four. 2. Evidently two weight classes only had three wrestlers, despite there being six teams in the conference. In addition, ...

Using the latest AAA individual rankings from 2/14/25 and now that the dual season is officially over and those place winners have been decided, here is what those individual rankings would predict for the state tournament race: 1) University = 121 points 2) PHS = 89 points 3) Woodrow Wilson = 83 po...

Re: New WVSSAC Rule
That is a good interpretation but the above rule is completely different than the one given during the WVSSAC rules clinic for wrestling. If that is the rule then someone must have come to their sense and figured out how silly it was for a athlete to go to an extra practice on their own or attend o...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
You might have provided more support for the regional problem. If some of the preseason ranked wrestlers only qualified last season because of being in a weak weight class in a weak region, then we needed a modified system last season. We didn't have it. The football community held almost all winte...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
[quote="Bearhugger"][quote="Panhandlewrestling"][quote="Bearhugger"] THE WRESTLING REGIONS ARE SET UP PURELY BASED ON GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION. THE REGIONAL MAPS ON THIS SITE CLEARLY ILLUSTRATE THIS. AA/A REGION 1 HAS MUCH MORE TALENTED WRESTLERS THAN AA/A REGION 2 OR 3. SOM...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
I kind of like the idea of adding each regions 5th place wrestler to the state tournament. Not for the fact of benefiting one region over another but to award the athletes for the months of hard work. Add a Pigtail round on Thursday evening and let them face a fourth-place winner from another regio...

Re: "Wrestle Ins"
With the current challenges high school football is having, the term "play ins" has been thrown around as a solution. Football is wide open as far as setting up its state tournament. Wrestling is locked into its geographical regions that are based on just that, geography. Perhaps it is ti...

Is it not four classifications like everything else now? Is quad A going to be a part of wrestling or are they just going to combine triple and quad like single and double? I presume this is the place to post comments on the rankings. No predictions intended, just wondering at how things look, especially with Fairmont Senior now...
